Rob Solomon

Rob Solomon has 30 years of experience as an economist, statistician, and financial and strategic adviser undertaking wide ranging assignments in countries confronting a variety of issues. Rob started out in Statistics New Zealand where he mainly focussed on national accounts and he gained a good grounding in not only how to produce quality and timely statistics but also in the usefulness of sound statistical analysis to back up policy advice and options. He has lived in the Pacific Islands for much of the last 20 years, spending most of his time in Cook Islands, Micronesia, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu, and employed on a variety of economic reform programmes. In order to achieve success he is proficient at undertaking research, analyzing information, and providing sound policy advice and options for key decision makers, be these officials, ministers or Prime Ministers. Capacity building has been a key feature of Rob’s work
